Cutting

Cutting is one of the essential activities in a Montessori classroom.

Cutting helps children
  • build hand-eye coordination
  • building fine motor skills
  • encourages bilateral coordination
In this lesson we need a child safe scissors, zip-lock bag, a tray, a square shaped bowl and a page to cut.

 Cutting lesson set-up

I have set up three type of cutting pages:

 Single Short Line Cutting
 Single Long Line Cutting
 Zig-Zag Cutting
 Kid Cutting
Child Opening ziplock bag to put the cutting
Child putting her cutting in ziplock bag
