Heavy and Light

One of the important sensorial lessons this september is Heavy and Light. This lesson helps children to realize what is heavy and what is light. In this lesson children weight the objects in their hand and feel if they are heavy or light to weight.

Needle and Thread

This lesson helps Children build Pincer Grasp, concentration and coordination. I am doing this lesson as a beginner sewing lesson. During summer I had some older kids and I realized that they had no idea about how to put thread in needle. I thought this will be a great lesson for kids to learn about needle and threads. For this lesson I used child safe needles ( I used plastic needles), and Thread.

Three Part cards are language materials which is helpful in all curriculum areas. This material helps young children with matching and older kids for their record on paper.

Parts of Apple......

This is the representation of our parts of apple in form of Three Part Montessori Cards. I first of all cut the apple into halves and showed them the parts of apple with pictures.
This lesson has 3 major parts

  2. Picture cards : Cards with just picture
  3. Word cards : Cards with just words
The lesson is as follows
  1. On a mat we layout about 4-5 Control cards.
  2. We then match the pictures to Control cards.
  3. After matching the pictures children if reading or knows their sounds try to match the word cards.
